TetherBridge - Lightroom Classic Plugin - User Manual
================================================================

Receive photos from the TetherBridge iOS app straight into a
Lightroom Classic catalog folder, over Wi-Fi - no cable to the
computer. Your iPhone/iPad is tethered to the camera by USB-C;
the Mac running Lightroom shows up automatically as a receiver.

----------------------------------------------------------------
REQUIREMENTS
----------------------------------------------------------------

- Lightroom Classic (NOT Lightroom CC) on macOS 11 or later
  (Apple Silicon or Intel).
- Mac and iPhone/iPad on the SAME Wi-Fi network (or the
  iPhone's Personal Hotspot).
- The TetherBridge app on the iPhone/iPad.

No Xcode or extra tools needed - the plugin ships a ready-to-run
helper.

----------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALL THE PLUGIN
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Unzip the package - you get a "TetherBridge.lrplugin" folder.
2. Move it somewhere stable (e.g. ~/Pictures/), NOT the
   Downloads folder.
3. In Lightroom Classic:
      File > Plug-in Manager... > Add
   Select "TetherBridge.lrplugin" > Add Plug-in > Done.

----------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO USE
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. In Lightroom's Folders panel, CLICK the folder where you want
the photos to land (or select any photo already in it).

2. Menu:
Library > Plug-in Extras > TetherBridge: Start receiving
   - No path to type - it uses the folder you selected.
   - You'll see a badge: "TetherBridge -> <folder>".

3. On the iPhone/iPad, open TetherBridge, connect your camera by
USB-C, and shoot. Your Mac appears in the app as a receiver
   named "<your Mac> (Mac)".

4. Photos import into the selected folder AND the catalog
automatically. Ratings, flags and color labels you set in the
   app also sync to Lightroom.

STOP:
   - Library > Plug-in Extras > TetherBridge: Stop receiving, OR
   - Just quit Lightroom - the receiver shuts itself down
automatically (the Mac disappears from the app within a few
     seconds).

----------------------------------------------------------------
TIPS & TROUBLESHOOTING
----------------------------------------------------------------

- Mac doesn't appear in the app:
Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi, and that
"Start receiving" ran (you saw the badge). Check macOS Local
  Network permission for Lightroom in
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

- Photos don't import:
Make sure a folder is selected in Lightroom BEFORE starting.
The plugin imports into that folder only.

- Reopening Lightroom:
"Start receiving" always starts clean - it shuts down any
previous/orphan receiver first, so just start again.

- Multiple cameras:
Several senders can target the same Lightroom folder at once.

- Filenames:
Files keep the camera/app name; if two collide, a -1, -2
suffix is added so nothing is ever overwritten.

- Logs (for support):
      /tmp/tetherbridge.log (network)
      /tmp/tetherbridge-plugin.log (import / culling)

----------------------------------------------------------------
DON'T USE LIGHTROOM? (standalone Mac receiver)
----------------------------------------------------------------

If you only want the photos to land in a FOLDER (no catalog
import), use the standalone "TetherBridge Receiver.app" instead:
double-click to pick a folder and start, double-click again to
stop. (Shipped separately.)
